The International Fair on Food, Food Processing & Related Equipments, Hotel & Restaurant Equipments & Supplies, Aahar-Autumn Show 2006, was organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, from 20th – 23rd September, 2006.
The Fair was organised with the support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India; Agricultural & Processed Food Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA); Association of Resource Companies for the Hospitality Industry (ARCHI); Confederation of Indian Food Trade & Industry (CIFTI); All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA) and Hotel & Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI).
The organizers had informed an exclusive opportunity for promoting Kerala and requested to participate in the event. Also 72 sq.mtrs raw space was allotted to our State for building up an exclusive Kerala State Pavilion.
Government of Kerala has been playing a proactive role in promoting industries in the State through a wide gamut of activities ranging from Fairs and Exhibitions in India and abroad to Buyer Seller Meets and various other promotion programmes. The Government provides information and support to the industries in Kerala State for participation in National and International Exhibitions for developing the exports of products from Kerala, Technology upgradation of existing industries in the State etc. |

A proposal was put up to the Government for participation in Aahar Autumn Show, Chennai and the Government has accorded sanction for participation of the State in the event. A full fledged Kerala State Pavilion was set up at the bare space allotted by the Organisers and the participating Food Processing Units from Kerala was given space, free of cost, to display their products/services.

Leading Food Processing Units from the State like Nadukkara Agro Processing Co. Ltd., Saico Spices, Gramashree Food Products, Priya Instant Foods, Ruchipriya Food Products, Elite Group, Dhatri Products and Cluster Groups from the State like Kalady Rice Millers Consortium participated in the Kerala State Pavilion. Also the activities and services of Kerala Bureauof Industrial Promotion (K-BIP), National Centre for HACCP Certification (NCHC), Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) and Agency for Development of Food Processing Industries in Kerala (ADFIK) were displayed at the Kerala State Pavilion. |

The Aahar Exhibition has achieved a new milestone by establishing itself as one of the only leading exhibition of Processed Food, Hotel & Restaurant Equipment Machinary in the country. It was beneficial for the State to participate in the event to showcase the strengths of Kerala in the Food Processing Sector and also provided the Food Processing Units of our State to exhibit their products.
